Regional Selection 2020/21

Bowls Victoria’s 16 Regions around the state will compete for the Region Sides Championships (Previously called the Group Sides) from Friday 30th April to Sunday 2nd May, 2021 to be held in the Shepparton area.

Congratulations to the players who have been selected by Geelong Bowls Region to represent us.  Good luck!

Both GBR Men’s & Women’s sides fought hard, but failed to make it through to the final, coming seventh (Men) and fifth (Women) in their section.

Congratulations to the Region Side winners for 2020/21:It was a battle of the country ladies in the final, with Wimmera making it to the final for the first time, and they got off to a really strong start.   But Ovens & Murray proved too strong, defeating Wimmera 𝟱𝟯 – 𝟯𝟯 in a hard fought battle.
Support from the crowd was strong for both Eastern Ranges and Central Goulburn Murray in the men’s final.  After not losing a round all weekend, CGM were the side to beat, and ER took up the challenge.  It was a close for most of the match but Eastern Ranges came through with the goods to take the win 𝟰𝟴 – 𝟯𝟲.
The medalists were presented by Cr Kim O’Keefe, Mayor of Greater Shepparton City Council.  Thanks to Shepparton Park, East Shepparton and Shepparton Golf Bowls Clubs for hosting.
