GBR win Men’s 4s in State Champs

Congratulations to the Ocean Grove team of Craig Rippon, Cal Hanna, Mick West and Matt Flapper (s) who took out the Men’s Fours title at the 2020-21 BV State Championships.

Played Wed afternoon on 5th May at Bendigo East BC, the Geelong Region representatives met the Jay Bye-Norris led Eastern Ranges team.  For those not rink-side, the game can be viewed via the livestreamed video recording >here      An exciting game where the Ocean Grove team were trailing but a Matt Flapper conversion to secure a 7 late in the game secured the game.  Well done.

The Women’s Fours title goes to Ovens & Murray led by Kylie Whitehead who defeated Strzelecki.

In the Men’s Singles, Stephen Sullivan from Queenscliff came from well behind to win his round 2 game against Central Goulburn Murry’s Chris Philpot, and has just won his round 3 game played this morning 6th May against Rhys Jeffs from Winchelsea (a former GBR player).  Congratulations to Stephen and good luck in the final this afternoon.

In the Women’s Singles, Veronica Kelly from City of Geelong made up some ground in her Round 2 game against Marilyn Stephenson from Bendigo Campaspe but Marilyn took the win.
