Bowls Vic have announced Region Sides Championship will be live streamed >link to recordings

Congratulations to both squads for competing – the Women went into the 7th (last) round equal with 3 others on 4 wins and played the top team on the ladder Sandbelt.  The battle ended in a draw, leaving Northern Gateway (the 4th ranked side) to earn the spot in the final.  So close, knowing that one single shot more would have got our girls into the final against Bendigo Campaspe, the Section B winners.  Northern Gateway went on to win the Championship.

L-R: Su Khruapanich, Maya Rees, Faye Richardson, Kerry Gooley-sub, Belinda Jeffs, Kaye Robison-mgr, Tonia Doyle, Veronica Kelly, Di Price, Jacqueline McLaren-mgr, Jenny Keep, Belinda Koek, Kas Harrington, Jo Duncan, Jill Smith

The men finished the round robin games 4th with 4 wins behind Sandbelt & Metro West both on 5 wins and Northern Gateway with 6 wins getting through to the final against section B winner Yarra.  Northern Gateway men achieving a clean sweep for the region, winning the final.

Women’s Provincial Side

We are very excited to announce that we are in the process of introducing this new competition combined with Ballarat, Wimmera & Bendigo Regions, which will run in conjunction with the Men’s Provincials.  We had intended for the Women’s to be run with the Men’s next year on Sunday 6th February, 2022, however found it difficult with such short notice and change of pennant dates that we will now look to the 2023 season.

Provincials consist of 6 Rinks – 24 Players and the same applies as the Shield match in that players selected for this Provincial competition will be notified.

We are excited for these upcoming events to take place
